wow....

haha, i do most of my art at school, so when i have to color something in, i usually use crayon or pen because colored pencils wear out my sharpener (actually, the crayon looks pretty good. i wonder if there's a crayon photoshop tool

i did get a big pack of prismacolor markers for christmas once. they're still in the house somewhere. i wonder where they went?

I get around the wearing the pencilsharpener down problem by instead using a knife to cut the wood of a bit. Often I end up drawing the pencil pointy so I don't even need to sharpen it. The problem is if I'm not drawing at home then because taking a sharp knife with out where I live is a crime and the exact law is fuzzy so I guess that there is times when someone could get away with it like carpenters and other needing the tool in their job.

Black-Wing, such a great piece. How large is it?

haha yeah, bringing a knife to my school will get me expelled. sometimes i do that with scissors if i don't have a sharpener though

i wonder if mechanical colored pencils exist?

No idea but it would not surprise me that much.
The problem when it comes to produce the leads must be quite many due to coloured pencils behaving differently than common pencil lead.

For pencil sharpening just a tiny, tiny pocketknife might do. Like one found in a Swiss armyknife, even if it might need to be sharpened just a tiny bit due to needing an edge to be able to cut wood. Or scissors as you mention.
